Ahmed holds a Masters of International Law (LLM) from Leiden University , Netherlands and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Phoenix- Arizona, USA. He also holds an LLB in Law and other degrees and diplomas. He is certified in Risk Management and is an expert in Project Finance and Islamic Finance.
Ahmed has more than 30 years experience in the field of international law, banking and finance and international organizations.
He served as the Lead Lawyer and acting Head of the Legal Department for a major multilateral bank.
Ahmed also served as a legal officer with the United Nations and provided legal services to the Hague based Special Tribunal of Lebanon.
He also held several other international positions and served as the Rule of Law Officer for the United States Agency for International Development in collaboration with the US Department of Justice.
Ahmed’s expertise in Islamic finance stems from a long experience working with the Islamic Development Bank and DMI Trust.
Memberships: The Royal Dutch Society of International Law, International Bar Association and the International Law Association.
